Plantar Fasciitus Sucks and Happens to over 50% of Perimenopause Women
Your Plantar Fasciitus is due to Hormones, Not Old Age.
I turned 50 and the periods became more random. Along with it came some weight gain, hot flashes a new sheriff came into town.
MY HEEL JUST RANDOMLY STARTED HURTING.
It took a while to figure out what was triggering it.
MY HIP HOP CLASS!
And then it was the Cross Fit style class.
Then it was the RUNNING.
It seemed that jumping up and down created major pain the next day.
Here is what has worked a little bit so far.
1) Vionic Shoes- I don't know why but I googled it and got a pair. It's the ONLY shoe that works. The CLARK Kitten Heels made it worse.
The Naturalizers didn't work either. I could no longer do heels at all. Even arch support tennis shoes bothered me.
But Vionic Flats? I could wear them all day and was pretty okay.
Caveat 1-They are expensive.
Caveat 2-The Arielle Ballet shoe is adorable but realize that leather flakes pretty easy, so be gentle!
I now have 3 pairs and when I don't wear them my Left foot lets me know the MOMENT I get out of bed the next morning.
2) Shockwave/Lifewave Electroshock Therapy. Hurts when they doing it (not terrbily but enough to make you yelp).
You get relief for a few weeks.
3) Lysine, this actually works.
4) I heard that Dry Needling works but haven't done it yet.
5) Congrats, you now get to talk to all your lady friends about Plantar Fasciitis.
I don't know if I will run again, every time I do that or jump up and down, I pay the next day.
The plantar fascia is a strong band of tissue that runs from the heel to the toes, connecting the bones in the feet and forming the arch. Plantar fasciitis occurs when this tissue becomes overstretched, resulting in microscopic tears that cause pain and inflammation. This condition affects people of all ages but is especially prevalent in women going through menopause.
